A real conversation with an Indian wholesale distributor who was ready to buy, but needed help understanding how to ship.
When a distributor in India decided to start wholesale buying, his first practical question was not about the product — it was about the shipping:
"Do you have any idea how much is the shipping cost for one box? Or expenses? I want to sell in wholesale."
It is a fair question, and one we hear often from new B2B buyers. The product price is visible. The landed cost — product plus freight plus any handling — is what actually determines whether the margin works.

We do not operate our own freight service. But over the years, we have worked with a number of logistics partners that our customers trust.
Our response was straightforward:
"We have a pretty well-known courier company that many customers choose. Maybe I can recommend them to you — you could check them out."
And importantly, we were clear about the limits of that recommendation:
"But we don't guarantee anything for them. You can check the prices and services yourself. If you want to find another freight forwarder on your own, that's totally fine too."
We shared the contact for DTC, a freight agent that handles product sourcing, inspection, payment handling, and global shipping — and told the customer:
"You can contact and say you are from RedSea — they know us."
The recommendation came with a referral, not a hard sell.

On August 7 — four days after the logistics conversation — the customer came back:
"I will give you orders today night for sample."
We followed up to confirm the logistics side was sorted:
"Did you get cooperation with DTC or other shipping agent?"
The customer confirmed he had connected with DTC, and noted one useful detail:
"DTC also give you payment in RMB."
RMB payment handling is a practical advantage for buyers who prefer to avoid foreign exchange complexity — something worth knowing if you are sourcing from China for the first time.

New wholesale distributors often have two concerns running at the same time: the product and the logistics. If either one feels unclear, the order does not move.
Our role is not just to quote a product price and wait. When a buyer is figuring out how to import for the first time, helping them understand the freight side — even if we are not the freight provider — removes a real blocker.
The approach here was:
If you are placing your first wholesale order and are not sure how to handle shipping, let us know your destination country and order size. We can point you toward logistics options that other customers in your region have used — and let you make the call from there.
